Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate – providing 10 mg Elemental Iron
Biso-Fer® is a pediatric iron supplement formulated with Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate, a superior, well-tolerated, and highly bioavailable source of iron.
It is specially designed to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia in infants and children while minimizing common gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, abdominal cramps, or constipation.
Thanks to its amino acid chelation technology, Biso-Fer® follows the body’s natural absorption pathways, ensuring gentle gastric tolerance, excellent palatability, and high compliance even in sensitive pediatric patients.
Ferrous Bisglycinate is a stable chelated complex of iron and glycine that is absorbed through peptide transporters in the small intestine rather than the conventional iron transport route.
This mechanism:
Prevents iron oxidation and protects the intestinal mucosa.
Enhances absorption efficiency even in the presence of dietary inhibitors.
Ensures gentle and safe delivery of iron without irritation or metallic taste.
Supports Hemoglobin Synthesis: Promotes normal red blood cell formation and improves oxygen transport.
Restores Iron Stores: Increases ferritin and hemoglobin levels effectively at lower doses.
Minimizes Gastrointestinal Discomfort: Up to 64% fewer GI side effects compared to ferrous sulfate.
Safe from Infancy: Demonstrated clinical safety and tolerability from 1 month of age.
Preserves Gut Microbiota: Maintains intestinal microbial balance, unlike conventional iron salts.
Biso-Fer® is recommended for:
Prevention and treatment of iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia in infants and children.
Nutritional support during rapid growth, poor dietary intake, or recovery after illness.
Premature or low-birth-weight infants at risk of early iron depletion.
Children with intolerance to traditional iron formulations.
| Age Group / Indication | Recommended Use |
|---|---|
| Infants under 1 year | 3 drops / kg per day |
| Children 1–3 years | 2 drops/kg per day (max 1.5 mL daily) |
| Children 4–10 years | 2 mL per day |
(0.5 mL ≈ 8 drops | 1 mL ≈ 17 drops)
Elemental Iron Equivalence:
2 mL = 10 mg elemental iron
1 mL = 5 mg elemental iron
1 drop (≈0.06 mL) = 0.3 mg elemental iron
