XenoFarma participated in an educational scientific session focused on contemporary management strategies for urinary tract infections (UTIs), held on December 17, 2025, at the Titanic Hotel in Sulaymaniyah. The session was conducted in alignment with the updated Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) guidelines, addressing the evolving challenges of antimicrobial resistance in UTI management.
The discussion covered guideline-recommended diagnostic pathways, appropriate antibiotic selection and treatment duration, and the principles of antimicrobial stewardship aimed at minimizing resistance development. Special emphasis was placed on the growing clinical relevance of antibiotic-associated dysbiosis and its role in recurrent and complicated UTIs.
In line with current international recommendations that emphasize non-antibiotic preventive and adjunctive strategies, the session explored evidence-based supportive approaches designed to reduce recurrence while preserving the urinary microbiome. Within this framework, UROVITA® from SIIT, an innovative Italian company, was presented as a microbiota-friendly adjunct that complements modern, guideline-driven UTI management.
The session promoted scientific dialogue and practical insight into integrated UTI care, reinforcing the importance of balancing effective infection control with long-term microbiome preservation.
XenoFarma remains committed to supporting continuous medical education and advancing evidence-based practices that address modern clinical challenges in infectious diseases.
