The scientific program featured two complementary presentations addressing both the clinical evaluation of pediatric anemia and contemporary approaches to oral iron delivery.
Approach to Anemia in Children
Dr. Amal Adnan Rashed, Consultant Pediatrician, delivered a comprehensive presentation addressing the clinical approach to anemia in pediatric patients. The session reviewed important considerations in patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based management, emphasizing the importance of identifying the underlying cause of anemia before selecting an appropriate therapeutic strategy.
Advanced Elemental Iron Delivery in Pediatric Iron Deficiency Anemia
The second presentation, delivered by Dr. Rawand Sirwan Izzalddin, Product and Business Development Manager at XenoFarma, focused on:
“Advanced Elemental Iron Delivery: Utilizing Micro-Particulate Carbonyl Iron Suspension (Innofer® Suspension) in the Management of Pediatric Iron Deficiency Anemia.”
The session explored the characteristics of micro-particulate carbonyl iron and discussed the formulation, tolerability, bioavailability, and practical considerations associated with Innofer® Suspension in the management of pediatric iron deficiency anemia.
The round table format encouraged active participation from attending pediatric specialists, providing an opportunity to discuss clinical experiences, practical treatment considerations, and challenges encountered in the management of iron deficiency anemia in children.
