An educational scientific session titled “Contemporary UTI Management in Line with Updated EAU Guidelines” was successfully held on December 21, 2025, at HuQQabaz, Empire World – Erbil.
The session focused on modern strategies for the management of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in accordance with the latest updates from the European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines. Key topics included contemporary definitions of UTIs, guideline-based diagnostic approaches, rational antibiotic selection, and optimal treatment duration.
Special emphasis was placed on antibiotic stewardship in the context of rising antimicrobial resistance, highlighting the importance of evidence-based prescribing practices to reduce resistance development while maintaining clinical efficacy. The discussion also addressed emerging challenges in recurrent and complicated UTIs and the need for guideline-driven decision-making in daily clinical practice.
The session provided an interactive educational platform for healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge and align clinical practice with the most recent European recommendations.
