Laboratorio Elea, a leading Argentine pharmaceutical company, successfully organized an educational scientific meeting for gynecologists in Mosul, held at the White Tower Hotel. The event focused on “Modern Evidence-Based Approaches for the Management of Persistent and Recurrent Vaginitis,” addressing one of the most challenging and frequently encountered conditions in gynecological practice.

The session provided an in-depth review of the latest international and CDC recommendations, with particular emphasis on long-term maintenance therapy for recurrent cases. Experts highlighted the clinical importance of twice-weekly vaginal suppository regimens administered over a period of 3 to 6 months to reduce recurrence rates and improve patient quality of life.

The discussion also reinforced the continued role of metronidazole as a first-line therapeutic option, noting its proven efficacy in controlling infection while preserving the normal vaginal microbiota, especially Lactobacillus species. Through evidence-based insights and practical clinical guidance, the event aimed to support physicians in optimizing treatment strategies and achieving better outcomes for patients suffering from recurrent vaginal infections.
